Matthew Matt James was born in North Carolina on December 5 1991. Matthew Matt James is the child of Manny James along with Patty James of mixed race. He is the son of a Nigerian father and a Caucasian mother. James graduated in 2010 of Sanderson High School. In 2015, he graduated with a Bachelor of Economics degree from Wake Forest University. James made headlines when his appearance on The Bachelorette as a reality TV celebrity. James was chosen in the year 2020 to become the 25th season bachelor in The Bachelor, becoming the first African American lead. The series premiered in 2021. James would be a perfect match to be the lead because he's tall, handsome and hilarious. Rachael Krkconnell was picked to play his partner during the season. In 2021, he was partnered by popular dancer Arnold for the 30th season of Dancing with the Stars. James and Arnold were ranked 12th.
